Scientists have found that for most cancers, the tumours begin to grow around ten years before they're detected. If we are cautious and are ready to take the path of prevention, cancer is nothing but a common cold.
Screening is nothing but checking for cancer in a person with no symptoms. There are many tests available to detect these silent signs that later grow into a symptom of cancer. When these early signs of cancer are found, treatment and prevention steps taken become more effective.
Different cancers have different symptoms and different ways of treatment. Similarly different set of tests help in the early detection of cancer. A simple checkup can somtime help you detect a lesion or a scar that could be cancerous.
We at NCARF, believe and promote early detection of cancer. For Breast Cancer detection, we have associated with UELifeSciences in using iBreast Exam. The method is non invasine and more comfortable for women, than a mammography. For Oral Cancer detection, we specialize in non invasive methods like using toluidine blue stain or brush biopsy. And so goes our idea of cheap and effective ways of cancer detection methods. This is the main idea behind starting a freelance clinic for cancer detection and we call is CDC - Cancer Detection Clinic.
KeralaCan is a state wide campaign initiated by Malayala Manorama for the protection of the society against the perils of cancer. Our work on early detection and screening of cancer in the early stages is greatly supported by the latest technology developed by UE Lifescience, named iBreast Examination.
The device is radiation-free, pain-free, portable and takes only 15 minutes to complete the examination.
We believe it is only through early detection that we can make the fear of cancer go away from the hearts of society. Through early detection we give a better hope and a better fighting chance for all.
